DIRECTOR’S NOTE
“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting
to be known.”
– Carl Sagan
I have always been fascinated by space, possibly because I grew up during the exciting era of space exploration and manned missions to the moon. Mostly though, I think it’s the mystery of it that has always captivated my imagination.
Our knowledge of the cosmos and the rules and laws that govern it keeps growing, but it is still dwarfed by what we don’t yet know. That is also true of the human brain—we have learned much in the past decades but there is still so much that we cannot explain about how it functions or, more pertinently, about why it malfunctions. And it is these parallels, between the human brain and the cosmos, that drew me to Night Sky.
